Platinum Box

Platinum Box for Her
I am a big fan of beauty sample subscriptions. My first subscription was with Birchbox, although their samples are not always the best, there will always be something from them that I would like and I do feel that I get at least $10 worth of goodies.

Recently I have subscribed to many beauty subscription services, just wanted to what's out there and form my on opinion on them.

I heard of Platinum Box from a couple of forums and wanted to try it out. I missed the free first month, which did not get great reviews, so I paid for the March box at full price. I was a little too hopeful to think that the second mouth would be better after so many people gave it a bad review. But I was wrong, at least I was wrong about their "Her" box. The "Him" box looked great and had a greater variety than the "Her" box, but since I am a girl I went for the "Her" box.

Box when I first opened it
The box was definitely not as well packaged as other companies. It was just a few samples place on top of some confetti paper. I was disappointed by the number of samples present. I thought they hid some in the bottom of the confetti paper, but there was only what is shown below.

Samples in the box
I got a 1oz bottle of Marrakesh High Tide Shampoo, a 1oz bottle of Marrakesh High Tide Conditioner, a Comodynes Easy Peeling towelette, and a Comodynes Self-Tanning towelette.

I paid $10 for the box. I got $7.43 worth of products.

Comodynes Self-Tanning Towelette
Cost per towelette: $2.25

I am not a big fan of tanning and usually tan by natural sunlight. Every time I tried anything artificial, it made me look too unnatural. I doubt I will actually use this at all, but I might try it later when summer is near just to just it out.

Comodynes Easy Peeling Towelette
Cost per towelette: $1.75

I first learned of peeling masks through a Korean makeup brand, Missah. The peeling mask literally peels off the dead skin and leaves the new younger skin. I was amazed and I enjoyed using. I am hoping that this towelette does the same thing.

Marrakesh Shampoo and Conditioner
Cost per oz. of shampoo: $1.56
Cost per oz. of conditioner: $1.87

The only thought I have for hotel size shampoo and conditioner is that I can carry them with me when I travel. Hopefully they will be better then hotel provided shampoo and conditioner.

With the pricing and the usefulness of the this box. I unsubscribed from them the minute I finished examining the contents.

Disclaimer: I bought the box with my own money.
